Prophet IAM undertake a wide range of policy and planning development projects, drawing on the more than 60 years experience that its directors have in local government parks management and operation.

Whether it is a cemetery strategy, reserve management plan, or physical activity strategy, Prophet IAM will always produce a document which is able to be implemented within the local government political environment, as well as enabling things to get done on the ground. A strength of Prophet IAM is our ability to produce outcomes which are practical and relevant to the needs of the Parks and Recreation manager .

Queenstown Lakes District Council – Land Rationalisation
Nov 2008 - present. Working collaboratively with Council and the Department of Conservation, identify reserves in the Queenstown and Wanaka area to include in a rationalisation review. Undertake a detailed assessment of each site, including land information, and make recommendations on the appropriate organisation to manage each site.

Timaru District Council – Reserves Strategy
December 2007 – present. Prepare a reserves strategy identifying reserve categories, level of service and defining the future requirements for reserve land with reference to demographic issues and reflecting the ongoing development of the District.

Queenstown Lakes District Council – Reserves Management Plan
March 2007 ­ present. Prepare a reserve management plan for three of the active recreation reserves in the Wanaka ward.

Matamata–Piako District Council – District Plan Tree Register
February 2007 ­ present. Identify and inspect significant trees in the district for inclusion in the District Plan Notable Trees Schedule.

Far North District Council – Aquatic Facilities Strategy 

October 2006 – May 2007. Preparation of background information to assist with the development of a strategy that will guide the Councils development of aquatic facilities and delivery of services over the medium to long term.

Gore District Council – Physical Activity Strategy
July 2006 – June 2007. Working collaboratively with Council, Sport Southland, health agencies and other community stakeholders together with SPARC sponsorship to produce a Physical Activity Plan that identifies actions that can be implemented by the project partners that will assist and encourage Gore people to be more physically active.

Queenstown Lakes District Council – Land Rationalisation

July 2006 ­ February 2007. Undertake an assessment of current provision, consult with user groups, and make recommendations for future development to cater for the areas growth over the next 20 years. Produce a costed implementation plan.

Taupo District Council – Reserves Strategy
June 2006 – present. Prepare a reserves strategy identifying reserve categories, level of service and defining the future requirements for reserve land with reference to demographic issues and reflecting the ongoing growth of the District.

Waitaki District Council – Reserves Strategy
October 2005 – present. Prepare a reserves strategy reviewing existing reserve provision on a community and District basis, and identifying opportunities for rationalisation and future requirements for reserve land with reference to demographic issues.

Matamata–Piako District Council – Reserves Management Plan
May 2005 – present. Prepare an omnibus Reserves Management Plan to cover all passive/amenity reserves in the district.

Hastings District Council – Reserves Strategy
March 2005 – January 2006. Prepare a reserves strategy identifying suitability of existing reserve provision, and defining the future requirements for reserve land with reference to demographic issues and reflecting the ongoing growth of the District.

Queenstown Lakes District Council – Cemetery Policy and

Dunedin City Council – Logan Park Recreational Review
September 2004 – March 2005. Logan Park Recreation review to explore opportunities for sports clubs to work more closely and consider options for possible alternative governance structures.

Queenstown Lakes District Council – Camping Ground Strategy
February 2004 – November 2005. Develop a strategy to address the issues facing council owned camp and holiday caravan parks in the district.

Taupo District Council – Tree Policy
November 2003 – February 2004. Prepare a tree policy for street and park trees and berm vegetation.

Tauranga City Council – Xeriscape Garden Project
September 2003. Develop narrative and information display panels explaining the concept and benefits of xeriscape gardens (low water use) for use in public displays.

Tauranga District Council – Botanic Gardens Feasibility Study 

August 2003. Community Botanic Garden develop an approach for community consultation on the issues and options for developing a botanic garden on land be quested to Council.

Tasman District Council – Cemetery Policy and Standard Operating Procedures 

May 2003 – November 2003. Develop policy and standard operating procedures for the management of the District’s cemeteries.



Queenstown Lakes District Council – Environment Court Evidence
May 2003 – August 2003. Prepare and present evidence for an Environment Court hearing in relation to a reserves development contribution.

Marlborough District Council – Parks Strategy
November 2002 – November 2004. Prepare a draft Parks Strategy for MDC identifying surplus reserve land, suitability of existing reserve and minimum standards of asset provision on reserve with reference to demographic issues and reflecting the ongoing growth of the District.

Queenstown Lakes District Council – Ben Lomond & Queenstown Hill
Reserve Management Plan

October 2002 – October 2003. Prepare a major management plan in consultation with the community for the areas of outstanding natural beauty surrounding the township of Queenstown.

Queenstown Lakes District Council – Reserves Development Plans
February 2002 – July 2002. Prepare reserve development plans and asset summary to be used for establishing cost of future enhancements for impact/reserve contribution assessment. Project involves preparing a sketch plan and narrative for each of approximately 40 identified reserves.

Clutha District Council – Reserves Strategy
December 2001 – February 2003. Prepare a reserves strategy for CDC identifying surplus reserve land, suitability of existing reserve and minimum standards of asset provision on reserve with reference to demographic issues and reflecting the ongoing growth of the District.

Queenstown Lakes District Council – Parks Strategy
